Black HUMANS Matter.
•Posted on June 04 2020
As I look at my scheduled post for this week, it doesn’t seem right to post about shopping with all that’s going on in the world.
I understand that this is a business page, but I’m human. Im also a black woman and a black business owner that is witnessing unspeakable things happening to my people. To carry on and act like all is well doesn’t sit right with me, and I know I’m not alone.
It’s been a tough weekend, full of unimaginable thoughts and nightmares. Living in fear of what my husband - a black man - and my young, black, male cousins have to endure on a regular basis. My heart breaks for all these boys, men, and the women who love them who have to watch the news and wonder what they’ve done to feel so much hate towards them. I can’t even imagine what they are thinking. Who do they trust to call when they are in danger? Who’s there to support them when those that are supposed to help them do more harm than good?
For all my white followers and friends, now more than ever, I ask you to use your voice. Have those uncomfortable conversations with family and friends and if you witness an unfair situation, speak up.
It’s so scary out here and like many of you, I pray for more love & understanding. I pray we continue to raise generations of children who value love over hate so that we can work to break this cycle and live in peace and respect.
