Who are you? What do you do?
Jennifer Webb- I supervise the In-school-suspension room in a high school and advise a few clubs. The Viking Closet, Souled Out Youth Ministries, and Souled Out Worship team.
What’s your mission?
The Viking Closets mission is to help any student in need by offering free clothing necessities no questions asked. We also work with social services and supply clothing necessities free of charge within our community.
Why not just be great at what you do? Why give back?
My heart was changed years ago, when I became a believer. True happiness doesn't come from just doing a great job. That's only part of the key to happiness. I have learned that when we take the focus off ourselves and help others, worthy or unworthy of our help, that is when we find true joy. Our heart grows, our joy grows, and our love for all, becomes unstoppable.
What organizations or groups do you feel the closest to and why?
The Viking Closet as well as the ministry groups I advise are definitely the groups that are closest to my heart. While the Viking helps a physical need the ministry groups provide a spiritual need. Both needs are just as important. The Viking Closet also puts on a free prom event each year that is also dear to my heart. It helps enable students that otherwise may not be able to attend prom because of their heavy financial burdens or costs of prom. We offer free dresses, free raffles for tuxedos, prom tickets, up do's, mani/pedis and more. I also have to say that Kathy Juana of Mission Lane is also an organization that I truly love. Kathy has such a heart for people, she is an inspiration. She has blessed the Viking Closet over and over again, not only with her time but with her amazing donations as well.
Are there specific people that had a big influence on your desire to give back, if so who are they and how did they influence you?
Well I would lying if I didn't tell you the truth. And since I'm not a liar.....My inspiration for all that I do is... Jesus. (Just dropped the microphone) lol
If you could ask for 3 things in this world what would it be?
I do pray each day for all to know the God I serve. I don't really need to ask for anything. I pray, God answers. That's all I need.
What’s your life motto?
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and everything else will make sense in the good times and in the bad.
